After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from The Kansas City Art Institute, I moved to Detroit and began a career in advertising. In the years since, I’ve worked in agencies big and small. And in every tenure, I was able to apply all the disciplines I had acquired: art director, illustrator, photographer and graphic designer. I’ve even directed commercials and produced short videos, though I prefer to work more graphically as a designer and art director, especially when I can also be the writer.
Nowadays, I find clients want the talent and skills of the people who do the writing and art direction, the design and production, but don’t want a long-term relationship with an agency. Conversely, many agencies want to bring in talent to work on a project, but don’t want to commit to hiring a full-time position. I’m here to offer a solution to both. If you have a project that needs big-agency talent without the big agency price or long-term commitment, please contact me. We’ll sit down and discuss what you need and how I can get it done for you.
